in very nice condition a German Erkennungsmarke ‘Infanterie-regiment 368’ Holland (Grebbeberg)
The regiment came in action on the 2nd of September 1939 during the invasion of Poland and fought in the area Gdansk.
On the 9th of May 1940 the regiment marched to the German-Dutch border and on 10 May they launched their attack on the Netherlands.
Without any fighting they found their way to Doetinchem and Doesburg near the IJssel river.
They encountered some weak resistance.
On the 11th of May they marched through Arnhem towards Ede.
On the next day on the 12th of May they started the attack on the Grebbelinie on the west part of Ede on the road to Utrecht. During these fightings Major Knobeldorf was killed in action.
After the fightings on the Grebbeberg the regiment fought their way to western part of the Netherlands.
In 1941 the regiment was a reinforcement unit for the 281 sicherungs division and fought in Russia during Operation Barbarossa. very nice for display
