The Quist firm produced the size 64 M40 helmet shell right up till late in 1944 whilst the other companies all adopted the M42 model. The helmet is a tell tale of the Quist quality with a shell blued prior to painting. The outside retains up to 85% of its factory applied textured paint. The inside is typical for these helmets finished without texture. This helmet was made for all the branches just like the M42 helmet without decal. The helmet features a field adapted and attached chinstrap which is original to the helmet. a nice used M40 helmet without decal!
